Welcome to Web Wednesdays, a new series dedicated to bringing you the best fashion and beauty websites. From under the radar companies to online communities millions strong, we will feature the sites you need to know about.
reFashioner is like the closet of your label-loving best friend. But just like any other (healthy) friendship, you can’t just take, but must swap items for access to her wardrobe.
Simply put, reRashioner is an online clothing swap among style savvy ladies who won’t accept anything less than the most on-trend and best quality pieces. reFashioner accepts mostly designer labels, so it’s not uncommon to find items from the likes of Louboutin, Alexander Wang, and McQueen.
The best part is you don’t necessarily need money to get access to these pieces. You simply apply for a membership, scour your wardrobe for those like-new pieces, snap some photos, and upload them to your closet. If reFashioner accepts the pieces, it awards you “reDollars,” which you can then use toward other items that are of equal or lesser value.
Like something you don’t have enough reDollars for? You can purchase the item on credit and upload other items within the next 5 days to make up the difference. If the reFashioner team doesn’t award you the appropriate reDollars to cover the cost, you can still make up the difference with a credit card.
The team behind reFahsioner means business. Aka, they won’t take shit. They are selective on which pieces they will accept and they expect members to pull their weight. Members earn rubies or stains depending on their behavior, and if you get enough stains you’re out. Stressful for some, but you can ensure you’ll be among like-minded style makers, free of the flakes and undependables. Just don’t step out of line yourself…
