Since I often travel with my sister’s English bulldog, I’m always on the look out for pet-friendly hotels in Washington. We love bringing the dog so it feels like the whole family is together, especially when we’re going on hiking or skiing trips.
However, you need to consider a lot of things when traveling with pets. There are the extra fees, weight, breed, or number limits, areas for your pets to relieve themselves, whether or not your furry friend will feel at home with welcoming touches like treats…it can be a lot! And if you’re traveling with a cat or other type of pet, it can be difficult to know if your furry loved one is even allowed (I feel this, as my sister also has bunnies!).
Luckily Washington is a pet-friendly state thanks to its vast outdoor activities. This extends to pet-friendly hotels, so I put together a round up of some of my favorites. I also call out which ones specifically allow other pets besides dogs, and which waive pet fees. Read on to find the perfect pet-friendly places to stay in Washington!

Thompson Seattle is one of the coolest places to stay in Seattle, so I always add it to my list of recommended accommodations. It’s a Hyatt so you can expect the luxury amenities that brand is known for: in-room toiletries, robes, local coffee, and modern decor. However, what makes this pet-friend hotel in Washington so awesome is the epic views of the waterfront. Definitely request one of these rooms to make the most of your stay.
In addition to posh rooms, this hotel has great onsite dining. Conversation is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and makes a mean salad, pasta, and cookie. Upstairs on the rooftop is The Nest, one of the best rooftop bars in Seattle that attracts visitors and locals alike. The Thompson is also steps away from the best Pike Place Market restaurants, so great eating is in your future.
In terms of pets, Thompson Seattle welcomes up to two pets at no additional charge. You’re a few blocks away from Victor Steinbrueck Park so walks are a breeze.
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle

The Kimpton Hotel Monaco is a cute and eclectic spot with some of the best amenities around. It’s perched right in the heart of downtown Seattle and is within walking distance of popular attractions like the Seattle Art Museum and Pike Place Market.
The décor is simple and modern, making it an ideal place to hunker down after a day of exploring. And you’re bound to appreciate the fabulous fitness classes at Riot Athletics and the creative cocktails at Outlier. Kimpton also provides loaner bikes, comfortable beds, and a tea and coffee service. But it’s the pet-friendly amenities that are truly next-level.
The hotel accepts furry friends of any size or weight for no extra charge. You’ll also get a plush pet bed, water bowls, free food, mats, and a concierge list of nearby pet-friendly restaurants, parks, and groomers. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll get plenty of poop bags for those last-minute walks!
Sheraton Grand Seattle

Sheraton Grand Seattle is a centrally located pet-friendly hotels in Washington. The decor leans upscale glamor with its sprawling check-in desk, warm lighting, and moody ambiance.
It’s a 4-star hotel, so you can expect amenities like free Wi-Fi, concierge services, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. As it’s also one of the finest green hotels in Seattle, keep an eye out for automatic LED bulbs and low-flow shower heads too.
When it comes to bringing Fido along for the ride, expect to pay $30 per night for pups up to 80 pounds. You can only have one pet in each room, which is a bummer if you have multiple dogs. But the floor mats, food bowls, and pet welcome kits packed with treats make up for it.
Cedarbrook Lodge

If you’re searching for pet-friendly hotels in Washington that are right near the airport, Cedarbrook Lodge is a fantastic pick. It feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of downtown because it’s perched within several acres of restored wetlands.
The oversized soaking tub will always be the main selling point of this hotel. But don’t count out the mouthwatering room service menu and plush beds either.
This place is open to four-legged guests for an additional fee of $50 per stay. Just know that your dog needs to weigh less than 30 pounds and you’ll be assigned a pet-friendly room in a designated part of the hotel.
You can’t leave your pup alone in your room at any point, so keep this in mind before planning a wild night out. If you have spare cash, the hotel’s Puppy Paradise package is worth booking. It offers a ground-floor room that makes toilet trips a breeze. It also provides a funky dog tag and in-room amenities like beds and dog treats.
The Edgewater

The Edgewater is an amazing place to stay near downtown Seattle that overlooks the Olympic Mountains and Elliott Bay. It’s on the pricey side, but you truly can’t beat the breathtaking panoramas and next-level service this place offers.
Amenities include a top-notch fitness center, a sprawling deck, valet parking, free Wi-Fi, bikes, and an onsite restaurant that serves a mishmash of Australian and Italian favorites. It’s also home to some of the best seafood in Seattle and a great selection of Northern Californian wines.
The hotel’s pet policy is excellent. You’ll have to pay a one-time fee of $100 for your stay for up to two pets in your room. You can bring cats or dogs, but their Rock the Dog Program is a particularly good value. It includes a plush pet bed for each night of your stay, food and water bowls, and a handful of treats. There’s also a park right down the street from the hotel, which is ideal for curing mid-afternoon zoomies.
Loge Camps Westport

All Loge Camp locations boast some of the lowest prices around, making this spot a budget-friendly base for Washington coast travelers. The classic hotel rooms are stylish but simple with comfortable bedding. This place is one of the best glamping spots in Washington, so if you want to take things back to basics, rent one of their campsites.
This place is also known for making adventuring easy. You can expect bonfire pits in the public area, plus kayak or surfboard rentals so you can make the most of nearby water activities.
As far as animals go, this spot is fully pet-friendly and allows two dogs of any size for $25 per stay. You can also leave your pups in your room unattended and take them to the grassy pet relief area to do their number 2s. If you’ve forgotten any essentials, add the Treat Your Pup package to your booking. It includes a dog bowl, a Ruffwear dog bed, a leash, and a harness.
The Lodge at St. Edward State Park

The Lodge at St. Edward State Park is one of the top pet-friendly hotels in Washington for city slickers wanting a weekend break from the Emerald City. This huge hotel is just 25 minutes from Seattle but feels like a quaint countryside getaway thanks to its proximity to Woodinville.
The building is a historic monastery erected back in 1931 and has a charming old-world feel. Don’t worry though, you’ll get tons of modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, custom pillows, an onsite spa, and bike rentals.
This spot welcomes dogs with open arms. You can’t bring cats, but they’ll accommodate up to two pups of any size for a refundable deposit (yep – there’s no fee!). You’ll need to call ahead by phone to book a pet-friendly room that comes with “pawmenities” like treats and plush pet beds.
While you’re here, make sure you go for a few walks in the 326-acre Saint Edward Park which is just steps away. It’s one of the best hiking spots in Seattle, so your pup will appreciate the exercise! And lucky for you, since you’ll be a hotel guest you don’t need to worry about a Discover Pass (which is required for all state parks).
Hotel Murano

Everything about the Hotel Murano is a complete vibe. From the incredible collection of glass art to the vibrant granite-top bar that serves delicious craft cocktails, it’s a chic spot for pet parents. I also love that it’s within walking distance of Tacoma’s best restaurants and museums while still remaining affordable.
Furry friends are treated like VIPs, making this one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Washington. Not only do they only cost just $30 per stay, but you’ll receive a pet bed, bowls for water and food, and toy treats that’ll keep them amused for hours. If you’re not familiar with Tacoma, head to the concierge desk for a handy list of groomers, vets, and dog walkers nearby. If you have tons of time on your hands, head to Chambers Bay Off Leash Park & Beach.
Kalaloch Lodge

This affordable and cheerful hotel is right by Olympic National Park, so it’s a great spot for exploring the best Washington coast attractions. It’s also just minutes away from the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, making it an ideal base for surf fanatics, birdwatchers, tide poolers, and anyone who appreciates long walks on the beach with four-legged company.
Amenities include an onsite restaurant, kitchenettes in each cabin, and wood-burning stoves for those chilly winter evenings. But the biggest perk is how much this place prides itself on being super dog friendly. For an additional fee of $25 per stay, you can bring up to two dogs of any size. You won’t be able to stay in the Main Lodge or Seacrest House, but the rest of the property is fair game.
Semiahmoo Resort Golf & Spa

This is one of my favorite recent finds in Blaine near the Washington-Canada border. It’s a 3-star hotel that has awesome guest reviews and is surrounded by the Salish Sea.
Amenities include an outdoor pool, golf course, restaurants, a tennis court, and an onsite spa. You’ll also get air-conditioning in most rooms, which is a blessing during the balmy summers. You won’t get a free breakfast with your booking, but they have an onsite restaurant for lunch or dinner.
The hotel accommodates two dogs of any size for $25 per pet/night with their VIP Pooch Package. Just remember to stick to the Balcony and Bay View rooms as the rest are off-limits to pups. If your dog likes water, head to the Beach Activities Center and go on a kayaking trip with your pooch.
Willows Lodge

I first found out about Willows Lodge when I was making the rounds of the best Woodinville wineries. And let me tell you – this is a place that’s worth a second look. It’s tucked away in the heart of wine country and is a great base for enjoying the area’s finest pours and farm-to-table fare.
It’s a pricey 4-star pet-friendly hotel in Washington, but there are a ton of luxury amenities for those moments you want to pamper yourself and your pooch. Amenities include huge fireplaces, comfortable beds, spacious bathtubs, a spa, an award-winning onsite restaurant, and same-day laundry for serious hiking days.
You’ll pay $75 per stay to have your pup and will get access to the WVIP (Willows Very Important Pet) program. This includes a personalized welcome card, doggie biscuits, towels for wet paws, bio bags, dog beds, and bottled water. You can bring cats and other pets if you’re staying in suites, but you’ll pay $150 for the privilege.
Fort Worden

If you’re on the lookout for pet-friendly hotels in Washington that are super unique, check out Fort Worden. The entire area is a 19th-century former military base which is cool from the get-go. Over the years, it’s been transformed into a 400-acre state park that’s perfect for a weekend getaway. There are 35 guest rooms in total, including remodeled office quarters and teensy apartments.
I’ll say that there aren’t as many amenities for pups as there are at other locations, but for $30 each night for a single pet, you’ll be assigned a pet-friendly room and be able to use the grassy areas and waste stations. You’ll need to keep pups on a leash, but they’re allowed to explore the state park, concrete military bunker, and battery structures onsite. Plus it’s near all my favorite things to do in Port Townsend, WA.
Salish Lodge & Spa

Salish Lodge & Spa is one of the most picturesque pet-friendly hotels in Washington. That’s because it’s perched right on top of the iconic Snoqualmie Falls. You can enjoy the views from some rooms and the award-winning onsite restaurant. There’s also a luxurious spa that would rival some of the best spas in Seattle.
Besides luxurious amenities for humans, they also provide the same level of attention to dogs. For $75 per dog, you can stay in one of their Patio Rooms and be part of their Pampered Paws Program. This gets your pooch all-natural dog biscuits, a dog blanket, and a bone-shaped collar tag. You’ll also have an onsite green space with plenty of waste bag receptacles. Plus leashed dogs are allowed at the nearby falls for even more exercise opportunities.
If you want to explore the area sans furry friends, they also have a partnership with a local petsitting business that will have licenses and trained experts available to dote on your dog.
Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort

This seaside condo resort is perfect for families who want to be close to the beach and spend time together. Each room comes with a kitchen and amenities to make it easy come mealtime. The resort itself has a tennis, pickle ball, fitness center, and an indoor pool and jacuzzi for active groups. Those who want a more mellow experience can grab coffee from the onsite latte stand and make their way to nearby sand dune beach trails.
This Washington dog-friendly hotel allows leashed, well-behaved dogs for $15 per night/dog. They allow up to 3 pooches, which is more than most other places with a limit.
Boardwalk Cottages

Another option in Long Beach is the Boardwalk Cottages, but this one has you staying in the more lively downtown area. Each of the cottages have a kitchen, jetted tubs, fireplaces, covered deck, TVs, and DVD players to keep humans comfort. There’s also EV charging stations, beach cruisers, and a spa onsite with a heated pool and Instagram-ready barrel sauna.
You can bring any pet to the Boardwalk Cottages. Their motto is if they can fit through the door, they can stay! You’ll be charged $20/day per pet and can bring up to three furry friends per room. They’ll get a water bowl and treats as a warm welcome.
The Woodmark Hotel & Still Spa

The Woodmark Hotel & Still Spa is another pet-friendly hotel in Washington located right on a lake. Its prime location gives you lovely views, but also prime access to Kirkland’s downtown shopping area, Woodinville wineries, and my beloved DERU (home to one of the best Seattle desserts ever).
Each room comes with amenities like Netflix, robes, toiletries, complimentary locally-roasted coffee, and complimentary WiFi. You’ll also get access to EV charging stations, beach cruisers, seasonal kayak rentals, and an onsite spa, restaurant, and pantry for snacks.
When it comes to pets, this is a dog-friendly hotel. Their Woof, Wag, & Worry Less Package provides food and water bowls and a dog bed for $75. You’re also near a bunch of walking trails and pet stores perfect for your pooch.
Hotel Bellwether

Hotel Bellwether is right near all the best things to do in Bellingham, a super dog-friendly town in and of itself. The property is perched right on the water and offers stunning views that feel a world away from the city.
Room amenities include room service, robes, a Nespresso Coffee Machine, complimentary bottled water, soaking bathtubs, Molton Brown body products, complimentary WiFi, and laundry services. On the hotel grounds you’ll find a fitness center, gift shop, restaurant and bar, boat dock, electric charging stations, complimentary bikes, free parking, and paved seaside trails. A salon, spa, and float experience are only steps away.
When it comes to pets, Bellwether know dogs because they have an onsite hotel dog named Bella. You can choose from rooms on the first and second floors and pay $50-$100/day for up to two dogs (the price difference is based on weight). Regardless of which package you choose, your dog will be given a water bowl, placemat, complimentary treats, a large dog bed, and a welcome note from Bella herself.
The Historic Davenport Hotel

I’ve visited this stunning historic hotel on a trip exploring all the best things to do in Spokane. It’s a 4-star Marriott Autograph Collection hotel that will make anybody and their canine friends feel like they’re in the lap of luxury.
As soon as you walk in you’ll be surrounded by ornate crown molding and architecture details that transport you to another time. You can dine at their onsite restaurant, grab a drink in their famous Peacock Room Lounge, or check out the highest-rated spa in Spokane. Oh, and you’ll even get their signature soft peanut brittle upon arrival.
I’m surprised that this is another one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Washington given how fancy the hotel is, but they do! You can have up to two dogs per room for $50 per stay. They’ll assign you a room on one of their pet-friendly floors and provide dog bowls and pet relief stations by the parking garage.
Resort at Port Ludlow

The Resort at Port Ludlow is tucked away in a quiet waterfront town near Port Townsend that’s halfway between Port Angles and all the best things to do on Bainbridge Island. It’s known for its golf course and access to water activities, walking trails, and cideries.
A stay here gets humans a room with an oversized jetted tub, locally-made bath products, gas fireplace, and local coffee and tea. You also have access to the onsite spa and restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
The resort was named a Fido’s Favorite Award Winner for their pet policy. For $50 per stay per two pets (any weight), your furry friend will have access to a lobby dog bowl and house-made dog treats. Upon arrival you’ll get a map with pet-friendly hiking trails and clean-up sites, as well as complimentary doo-doo baggies. You’ll also be able to dine out on the restaurant’s veranda while your pet relaxes on the grass next to the restaurant.
Suncadia Resort

They Hyatt-owned Suncadia Resort is one of the ultimate pet-friendly hotels in Washington. That’s because it has more than 6,000 acres of forested mountain landscape, meadows, and rivers to explore with your dog during any season.
Resort amenities include a 36-hole golf course, fitness and aqua center, onsite spa, restaurant, and winery, and hiking and biking trails that turn into some of the best cross-country skiing in Washington come winter. There are always events going on, like yoga hikes and fitness classes, and a bunch of other amenities that I outlined in my guide to Suncadia Resort.
There are multiple property options that allow up to two dogs per group. For a $75 per day pet fee, you’ll get a welcome gift with a trail map, dog treats, and doggie bags. You’ll also find an off-leash dog park perfect for letting your pooch stretch its legs.
