The best Leavenworth wineries are easy to explore, considering most of them are clustered next to each other in downtown Leavenworth. This makes Leavenworth the perfect wine tasting destination. In fact, I’ve gone multiple times on girl’s trips for this very reason!
If you’re not familiar with Leavenworth, it’s an old logging town that reinvented itself to mimic a Bavarian mountain village after a new railroad started diverting people away. They were successful in giving people a reason to visit, and now it’s a popular destination year round.
Lucky for you, wine tasting is a great activity regardless of the season. And since Leavenworth is close to a designated American Viticultural Area (AVA), it has a lot of tasting rooms featuring some of the best Washington wines. There are even a few wineries producing bottles from grapes grown right in Leavenworth and nearby Wenatchee!
So if you’re ready to unwind with friends and taste some unique vintages while taking in beautiful mountainside scenery, here are the best wineries in Leavenworth you have to visit.
7 Best Leavenworth Wineries
There are about 20 wineries in Leavenworth, but here are my favorites that you should prioritize visiting.

Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards
website | directions | best for: unpretentious and fun vibes
Hard Row to Hoe is one of the best Pacific Northwest wineries, period. Their vineyards are located in Lake Chelan Wine Country about one hour northeast of Leavenworth, but they have a Leavenworth tasting room right on Front Street.
They make award-winning wines under 3 labels: Hard Row to Hoe, Shameless Hussy Wines, and Whole Picture Wines. If you’re wondering why all the “hoe” and “hussy” references, there’s a story behind that.
You see, way back in the olden days there was a brothel in the middle of Lake Chelan serving miners passing through. The saying used to be that they had to make a “hard row” (on the water) to “hoe” (the brothel). Hard Row to Hoe has kept the history alive in their branding and laidback attitude.
Some people may think it’s all showmanship and no substance, but Hard Row to Hoe makes excellent estate-grown wines. What I especially like is that you’ll find more unusual grapes from them, such as muscat, barbera, and my favorite, tempranillo. If you only have time to make it to one of the best Leavenworth wineries, make sure this one is it!
Patterson Cellars
website | directions | best for: crowd pleasing wines
Patterson Cellars is a wine tasting room in Leavenworth that also has a tasting room among the Woodinville wineries 30 minutes from Seattle. They’re in the same hidden area as Obelisco Estates so you can hit up both in quick succession. Every time I go wine tasting with a group, everyone always enjoys this place. That’s because they have a wide variety of wines to fit all palates. You’ll find lesser-known grapes like roussanne and crowd favorites like syrah and pinot noir. They also often have live music, so it’s always a good time at this Leavenworth winery.
Goose Ridge Wine & Cider
website | directions | best for: something for cider lovers
Goose Ridge is another one of the best Leavenworth wineries. They own and operate the largest continuous estate vineyard in all of Washington state, covering more than 2,000 acres. All of their wines are made with 100% estate-grown grapes, which you can find under 5 different wine labels.
They produce about 40,000 cases a year of their Good Ridge label, but they actually make about 1 million cases annually by helping other well-known wineries like Chateau Ste. Michelle. So all of this is to say, they have winemaking down to a science!
Since they have so much farmland, they also grow a lot of apples. They turn those apples into hard cider, sometimes pairing it with interesting ingredients like passion fruit or cherries. This makes Good Ridge a great stop for people who want to try both wine and cider under one roof.

Ryan Patrick Winery
website | directions | best for: everyday wines
Ryan Patrick is another award-winning winery with a tasting room in Leavenworth. They’re best known for their drinkable, everyday wines that aren’t too fussy but still rack up medals.
For example, their Redhead Red and Naked Chardonnay bottles have won a ton of awards and landed on many “best buy” lists. I really enjoy their reds because they’ve got heft and drink more expensive than they are.
Silvara Cellars
website | directions | best for: ambiance
If you want more of the ambiance you get when visiting a winery versus a downtown tasting room, Silvara Cellars is the winery for you. They’re located just a few miles from the hustle and bustle on a large property with beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains. Their tasting room reminds me of a ski lodge, with an a-frame roof and tons of windows for taking in the landscape.
While Silvara doesn’t grow their own grapes, they source from the best vineyards all over the Pacific Northwest. As a result, you’ll find varietals here you don’t often see, like dolcetto and carménère. They even have a fruit wine made of huckleberries!

Boudreaux Cellars
website | directions | best for: Louisiana vibes
“Boudreaux” is the name of the colorful Louisiana folklore character widely known for its keen sense of adventure and good humor. It’s also the nickname for this winery’s owner, Rob. As a result, you can feel the easygoing NoLa vibes in this downtown Leavenworth tasting room.
You can also visit their winery off the grid a few miles away from Leavenworth. The building is stone like an old European wine cellar and there are plenty of outdoor seating areas and fire pits for taking in the surrounding forest.
Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery
website | directions | best for: easy breezy vibes
This winery is headquartered in Wenatchee, but they also have a downtown Leavenworth tasting room. If you’re able to make the about 20-minute drive to Wenatchee, you’ll be met with pretty ambiance and the ability to do wine tours and barrel tastings.
Their Leavenworth tasting room has a lot more of a casual vibe. The space is cozy with low ceilings and a bunch of standup bistro tables that encourage mingling and conversation. You’ll find a lot of big red grape varietals like cabernet, syrah, and merlot because they source their grapes from the warm Yakima Valley.
