Despite our recent beef with GQ, we are in awe of one of its most recent pictorials. In its September 2011 issue, it photographed looker James Marsden wearing the season’s hottest tweed suits.
The texture, the depth it adds to a garment…we are obsessed with tweed. We absolutely love the pieces the GQ editors picked out for this shoot, especially the first one pictured above. However, we noticed most of them came with a hefty price tag. Since these suits don’t necessarily fall under the category “goes with anything,” it’s a pretty big investment to be dropping over $1K on a fashion-forward suiting look.
Thus, we decided to hunt for an affordable tweed suits, inspired by GQ’s recent fashion spread. We also picked out the best accompaniments and accessories to go with our suit choice, to ensure you walk out of the house donning a show-stopping look.
Which one did we find? This Barbour Tweed Check Suit. Barbour makes amazing tweed jackets, as can be seen here, but it was this full suit that had us swooning.
Barbour Tweed Check Sports Coat and Pants – £279, £169. Shown with plaid shirt, tie, belt, socks, & shoes.
Is this suit a little too crazy for you? We found this Billy Reid gray tweed suit at Bloomingdale’s for the modest man.
